Dear THA Friends,
I have missed you all and I thought it might be fun to use the blog to catch up and share what I've been up to this summer. Here goes!
xo, Miss Nicole
Right after our class ended, I headed up to New Paltz to do my latest mural commission, this beautiful swan scene:
More shots of this murals and others are on my website: www.nicolepouliot.com.
After the quick mural jaunt, I jumped right back into teaching every week with various workshops I had going with "big kids" including my annual Puppets Workshops and Art Camps. Here's some of the fun work that came out of my July and August teaching:
If any of you kids take a dance class at Spoke the Hub this fall, you'll see this seascapes that my students made up in the hallway "gallery" for display:
During my week of teaching about the Italian Futurists Movement in correspondence with the Guggenheim exhibit, I even had the pleasure of writing a "Manifesto for a better future world" with a great group of 6 year olds.
If our future is in these hands, then the future looks bright and peaceful!
I did have one glorious week out-of-town for a vacation in Wisconsin where I got to catch up with old friends and attend the most fun wedding that I've ever been too! Dancing all night at the wedding on the lake was almost worth the sprained tendon that I came home with that has kept me limping for the entire month of August! C'est la vie ;)
Look how lovely Wisconsin can be in the summer time!
Here I am with my oldest and dearest friend
(we've known each other since the 7th grade!) and of course the lovely bride too :)
And of course, no summer of mine would be quite right without at least a dozen trips to Coney Island. Miss Sarah and I played so much skeeball this year that we started wearing our hard-earned tickets as accessories!
All silliness aside, I wish each of you (children and parents!) a wonderful new school year filled with engaging learning, inspiration, creative expression and friendship!
Please do keep in touch! xo
