A Winter Wonderland!

Brooklyn looked a bit like this snowflake art project early in the week!

Inside the classroom, however, we were warm and ready to learn and play. On Tuesday we did a "sound sort" and worked on distinguishing between the sound of "C" words and "D" words. We are rocking our pre-writing skills as well!

We also learned about the cycle of Seasons and how we will soon officially transition into Winter on December 21st. Here we are making the components of our season cycle wheels:

In Movement this week we worked on the skills of sliding, rolling and balancing. Hana looks like a skateboard pro in this first shot!

We also worked our fine motor skills by using our strong fingers to crumple delicate paper squares as decorations on the Christmas wreath crafts that we made today. Our wreaths will be on display in the classroom next week :)

Finally, we had the privilege of giving again this month by bringing in new toys to donate to a shelter for women and children. Many thanks to Luca's mom Laura for doing the legwork on our behalf again.

When the mitzvah box was full, we sang "This Little Light of Mine" and shined some light and love from our hearts on to the gifts. Holiday giving will fill others' buckets and ours too-- it's a win win act of kindness!

Speaking of kindness and giving, Ollie and Bella shared a lovely moment today as Ollie presented Bella with her holiday gift so that she doesn't miss out while on her trip next week. Their happiness at going and receiving is so apparent in these heart-warming photos:

We look forward to more gift giving, gratitude and holiday cheer next week!

In the meantime, enjoy these fun candid shots from our week:
