This week at THA we celebrated 3 birthdays!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Luca, Ollie and Milo who are now the big 3+1= FOUR!
School birthday parties call for lots of dancing so that's just what we did! Check some photos of us moving and grooving to the special Choosy the Lizard birthday song and other favorites. In lieu of real candles, we also blew out our "finger candles" when making a wish in honor of our birthday boy of the day:
In addition to birthday dancing, we did lots of exercise this week in Movement and Yoga. Check out Milo's giant jump shot:
Yoga also gives us a chance to calm our bodies.
We created many cool projects this week. After several weeks of working on our Rainbow Writing Books, we were able to bring home this great keepsake that documents our process of learning to write our names:
Our writing and tracing skills are fantastic!
… and our drawings too!
This week we continued our author study of Eric Carle. We now have a bin in our classroom library just for his books!!
On Tuesday we read "The Very Hungary Caterpillar" and made these cute craft caterpillar friends to bring home.
On Friday we read "The Foolish Tortoise" and used our bodies to pretend we were putting our heads in and out of our shells like a turtle or tortoise would do. Then I shared my tortoise puppet with the kids before helping them to make their own.
And finally we got down to the business of playing with our friends!
Have a great weekend everyone! :)
