This week we began our study of fairy tales with Little Red Riding Hood. We talked about how fairy tales often have many variations and we came up with some endings that we've heard before or we brainstormed ourselves. Then each student made a wolf bag puppet and a Little Red Riding Hood puppet so they can act out there own version of the tale at home.
I use the felt board to tell the stories and later in the week we were visited by another Big Bad Wolf in the story of The Three Little Pigs.
The kids help me huff...
… and puff…
and blow the house in!
Then we got to work making a scene sheet of the three houses from the story.
one of straw
one of sticks
and one of bricks
Throughout the week we also look at Three Billy Goats Gruff, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Jack and the Beanstalk. More to come next week!
Our letters of the week were V and W and that lead us into a Yoga sessions about a very wiggly worm!
Playtime! Here Evan was working very hard on some sort of top secret block formation:
The girls built this long path and then Hana set up a "people parade." Somehow the babies ended up alone at the finish line!
I wish everyone a fabulous weekend :)
