We love you Ollie!

On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week we enjoyed spending our school days with our friend Ollie before sharing "see ya soons" with the Maurer-Cohen family as they drove off to their new home in North Carolina.

We also had a Thank You card to make for Mister Brent at Ample Hills Creamery for the fun ice cream field trip last week :)

We've been learning about pairs and how our bodies have lots of parts in pairs: eyes, nostrils, ears, hands, arms, legs, feet, and more. We did some simple addition with sets of pairs by talking about various vehicles and their pairs of wheels. We got our own tiny cars to decorate too!
1 pair of front wheels + 1 pair of back wheels = 2 pairs of wheels = 4 wheels

We played with Ollie.

We snuggled with our friends.

On his final day at THA, I measured Ollie to see how much he had grown this year-- 3 inches!!

Evan was double checking my accuracy ;)

We shared our "love notes" with Ollie and put them in a folder for him to bring on his long car ride.

After Yoga, Ollie shared some memory books with all of us-- a very special gesture.

We played some more...

Then we made a friendship circle with our friends...

…before dancing to what the kids call our "shake your booty" song!

Go team THA!

In the car driving to NC, Ollie opened his end-of-the-year gift from me. Here's his adorable smiley reaction but with the present blurred out as not to ruin the surprise for the 9 kids who will get theirs next month!

On Thursday Emmett laced this leaf and told me it was a "death star from Star Wars."
Should I be afraid?!

We matched, constructed and created.

We read books (sometimes sideways!).

We rolled, tumbled and jumped.

We snuggled some more. These are Milo and Alec huggie leg leaches!

Then on Friday Zadia made me a chocolate ice cream cone out of unifix cubes!

Aiyana joined us at school and jumped right in to play and learn with us for the day.

Dominique read LOTS of books in the library and it was fun to have her as a guest teacher :)

We made silly mixed-up animal art by matching pairs by color and shape, and using them as wings, legs, ears, etc for our creatures.

Have a great weekend with your tiny creatures here in Brooklyn.
Ollie, Vivienne, Tracey and J-- we wish you a wonderful unpacking weekend in your new home and we miss you already!
