This week has been all about Ice Cream-- yum!
We created these 1-to-1 correspondence ice cream charts for the quantities 1-10.
We each shared some thoughts on ice cream including our favorite flavors and what we guessed goes into the sweet stuff:
We decorated some cute ice cream props that came in handy on school photo day...
…and that made good microphones too!
We also made ice cream crowns :)
In the midst of ice cream week, we took a side road back to our phonics study and worked with letters R and S. Here we are sorting objects that start with "r" or "s" sounds.
Of course we must exercise to counteract all that ice cream!
Here's Miss Claire leading the kids in the pizza song.
Our pride of sleeping lions are deceptively still until the chorus of "Wimoweh"has them jumping up to their feet and dancing like jungle kings!
Here's Ollie comparing his body length to the COLOSSAL mouse in one of our library books:
We enjoyed playing with our friends at school:
Finally it was Friday and time for our field trip to Underhill Playground and the Ample Hills Creamery ice cream shop!
Mr. Brent showed us how ice cream can be made by hand.
The best part was tasting some of Ample Hill's flavors and dreaming up some of our own!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend and don't forget to enjoy some ice cream!
